Main centre

M.A. Motala Centre

Wyebank, KwaZulu-Natal

MA Motala Centre is situated at 185 Wyebank Road in Wyebank (±5km from New Germany). This centre was established to focus on addressing the educational and socio-economical needs of the community and serves as a boys boarding facility and community centre housing 50 students (Grade 8–12 and tertiary). The centre sees close to 150 people daily who take part in community activities.

Established centre

Amaoti Centre

Amaoti (near Inanda), KwaZulu-Natal

Situated on a hill overlooking a rural area in Amaoti next to Inanda, this centre is in the heart of a poor community. The Amaoti centre provides madressa education daily for 60 young students and also provides a meal for learners who may otherwise go to school hungry.

Rural centre

Umtwalume Centre

Durban South Coast, KwaZulu-Natal

Located on the Durban South Coast region of KwaZulu-Natal and within the heart of a rural community. The Umtwalume Centre includes facilities for boarding for boys, two madressa classes, a Jamaat Khana, borehole and teachers’ quarters.

Programmes

  • Daily madressa classes (Quran, Arabic, Duas and Khalimahs)
  • Feeding scheme provided to children
  • Dawah programmes, home & family visits and neighbouring school visits
  • Community outreach (food hampers, winter items, cooked meals, clothing, shoes)
  • Free water provided via water well
Regional hub

Botshabelo Centre

Free State, South Africa

SADN has played a key role in the construction of the Botshabelo Islamic Centre. The centre includes a Musjid, kitchen area, staff accommodation and a Ghusl Khana.

Programmes

  • Weekly madressa classes for boys and girls
  • Camps (training, dawah and Qur’aan recitation)
  • Five daily salaah in place, ghusl for the deceased conducted by the Imaam
  • Dawah, ladies meetings on Sundays, home visits and dawah programmes
Developing centre

Casteel Centre

Casteel, Mpumalanga

Casteel Islamic Centre is situated in Casteel, Mpumalanga Province. This Centre has a Masjid, teachers house and boarding room for students. Sheikh Abbasi does both Imaamat and madressa teaching, and dawah programmes are held to inform community members about Islam.
